The Girls Next Door normally hold auditions during the first week of every schoolyear.
For auditions you should come warmed up and prepared to sing a minute's worth of your favorite song a cappella. Pick any song you'd like, but it helps to pick one that shows off your range and your great personality! Don't be shy...add your own touches to your number too!
We will begin by going through some scales with you to hear your range. Next, we'll play a few bars of a song for you on the piano and you will sing it back to us. Then, we move on to sight reading. Don't worry, you're almost done! All that's left is for you to sing the piece you prepared.
While singing your piece keep in mind that you are auditioning for an acappella group in which blend is key, so it will be in your best interest to demonstrate the straight tones, pure vowels, and precise control of your voice that is necessary for an impeccable group blend.
Now...don't be nervous! We've all been through auditions and know how scary they may be, so we will definitely help make the atmosphere light and relaxed. The Girls Next Door are a bunch of crazy sweethearts! Don't worry, you'll do great! We'll be there cheering you on the entire way.
