Workshop Confidentiality

We take issues of privacy seriously. Educational information shared in workshops is vital and should be spread to everyone appropriate in need. Personal information shared in workshops is kept completely and totally confidential and shall not be shared, expressed, or otherwise communicated with anyone outside of the workshop. No names or specific details on participants are to be spread without expressed, explicit permission (preferably written) by the individuals involved. In simple terms, what's said in workshops that goes beyond educational information (with discretion as to what is educational, clearly someone's sexual habits or preferences is considered personal) is not to be shared with the public. We are committed to protecting the privacy of personally identifiable information given in workshops and will not distribute, sell, rent or in any way make available this information to any third party without prior written consent.

Political Affiliation

The Sexual Health Peers have no political affiliation as an organization. Our members of course have their own opinions and views, which the organization as a whole should not and cannot be held accountable with any political affiliation. We are a sex-positive organization. We think sex and sexuality are positive components in a healthy life style and advocate for comprehensive and inclusive sex education for all that are interested. We feel that there are many shortcomings in Abstinence Only sex education and seek to utilize better methods of teaching in our workshops. We do not take any formal stances on abortion or complex issues such as feminism, but do seek to inform inquiring individuals of all of their options and alternatives. We do not consider abstinence a form of birth control, but instead a lifestyle and still feel that those who chose this life style should also have the opportunity to learn about birth control, STI's, sexuality, and dating. Simply put, you may want to abstain from sex, but others you know may not feel this way and it's important for everyone to be educated and healthy. So to this end we take a sex-positive and anti-abstinence only education stance, but with no associated political party or affiliation.
