STAFF:
The Beckwith staff consists of a Resident Director, an Assistant Resident Director, two Resident Advisors, and personal assistants. Like other residence halls, the Resident Directors along with the Resident Advisors are responsible for implementing policies, developing emergency plans, maintaining the facility and organizing social and recreational programs for the students. The personal assistants are recruited, screened, trained by Beckwith Management. Personal assistants are responsible for assisting the students with their activities of daily living, and are supervised by the residents with disabilities in conjunction with the Beckwith Hall management staff. Other services included at Beckwith are housekeeping, and food service.
Beckwith residents may receive other services from the Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES). DRES services include physical therapy, testing services, transportation, wheelchair repair, recreation and athletics, text conversion to braille, large print and audio tape, interpreters, consulting services for students with learning disabilities, and drivers education training.
All medical services (e.g., diagnosis, treatment and follow-up) are performed by McKinley Health Services and/or other medical service providers.
