The goal of The Hip Hop Congress is to create a viable forum for people to learn, express themselves, interact with diverse ideas and cultures, and gain the tools they need to facilitate their own goals. The Hip Hop Congress hopes to set up a global marketplace and network where like-minded individuals and communities can connect, share resources and develop ideas and strategy. While the Hip Hop Congress is founded on an ideal, our actions are pragmatic and powerful.

UC Hip Hop Congress uses the culture of Hip Hop to inspire young people to get involved in social action, civic service, and cultural creativity. Hip Hop Congress is the product of a merger of artists and students, music and community. It is significant because it provides one of few paths for highly creative and often disenfranchised youth where they can channel their energy into a strong and organized force aimed at improving their community.

Association of Undergraduate Sociologists
Back to Top
The Association of Undergraduate Sociologists is a registered student organization from the University of Illinois, comprised of sociology majors, minors, and enthusiasts. The organization is here to help encourage students to become actively involved in sociology on many scales - starting by informing and empowering students to make a difference in their own lives as well as those of others.  We hope to host speakers and discussions on various topics of sociological interest, and participate in career fairs and Quad Day.  AUS is a significant resource for sociology majors as well - providing internship leads and opportunities.  We'd like to help inspire, aid, and inform students through interviews with professors, information on classes, career and internship opportunities, and chances to learn how to lead and run an organization. We also plan to help the Champaign-Urbana community and surrounding areas through volunteer service with other organizations.  Through support and interest of sociology enthusiasts this new organization can make a difference.
