Soc Club, previously known as the Association of Undergraduate Sociologists, is a registered
student organization from the University of Illinois,
comprised of sociology majors, minors, and enthusiasts.
The organization is here to help encourage students to
become actively involved in sociology on many scales -
starting by informing and empowering students to make
a difference in their own lives as well as those of others.
Sociology club has found many ways to fulfill this mission. Our activities have varied over the past few years and our group is always coming up with new ideas for meetings and revisiting old ones. We host speakers and discussions on various topics
of sociological interest, and participate in career fairs
and Quad Day. AUS is a significant resource for
sociology majors as well - providing internship leads
and opportunities. We'd like to help inspire, aid,
and inform students through interactions with professors,
information on classes, career and internship opportunities,
and chances to learn how to lead and run an organization.
We also plan to help the Champaign-Urbana community and
surrounding areas through volunteer service with other
organizations. Through support and interest of sociology
enthusiasts this new organization can make a difference.
Information about the times and places we meet is primarily communicated through Email, though typically events take place in the Union or Lincoln Hall on Tuesday nights around 6 pm. To find out specifically contact Dana Murray and request to have her add you to the Email list. |
