Meet Jeff (now run away, as fast as you can)

Previous Exec Advisor and President Jeff is now retired from leading the Sociology club. The profile below applied to his life in college, and may no longer necessarily be representative. We wish Jeff well in Graduate school at the University of Illinois.

Major: Sociology
Minor: Computer Science
Year in school: Senior (I don't want to ever graduate)
Email: ginger@uiuc.edu | jag85n@netscape.net
Favorite color and why: Jade - the version that's that kind of deep majestic sparkly green.  I'd say I like it because I feel it represents my personality, but that'd be a bunch of poetic bullshit :)
Groups, Jobs, and Activities: AUS (Sociology Club), Feminist Majority, Avalanche, Alcohol Free Illini, University Network Technician (Housing Division), Democracy For American @ UIUC, Illini Bicycle Project, Inline Insomniacs, Double Hitters Anonymous Volleyball, 4M, UCF Youth Ministry, Positive Event Chain, Goat-a-Palooza, UC Hip Hop B-Boys, supporting the Girls Next Door, Spicy Clamato, and Debono, and other stuff I'm probably forgetting.
Interests: Doing too many things.  Sociology, Volleyball (sand or indoor), Rollerblading (speed, not trick skating), Wallyball (different than Volleyball), Ice Skating, DDR (Dance Dance Revolution, but I also like Double Data-rate RAM), Writing (mostly Editorials), Philosophy, Web Design and Development (mmmm asp.net...), Computer Gaming (FPS and Strategy, none of that ever-crack mmo), Frisbee, Computer Hacking (okay not really, but I like to pretend), Programming (C++, Java, VB, if you want to count HTML or SQL), Gender Studies, Graphic Design (computer and paper-pen/pencil based), Photography (digital only), Hiking (mountains), Biking (a bit of off road, more distance), Running (I'm a recovering addict), break-dancing (relearning it), injuring myself, listening to/recording music, being a bottomless pit of energy, and most of all spending time with the people I love!
Interesting fact:
Back in high school on our senior most I received a large number of votes for biggest feminist (a category reserved for females) *pulls at collar* Hey, but at least I actually won "Most likely to save the day"
Why you enjoy sociology: It's the study of people, culture, and society!  And I love people!  Usually, anyway. No, but seriously, I enjoy sociology because it's a practical focus to contemplating the issues that abound in society - the good, the bad, and the ugly.  It's almost like philosophy, except you can do something practical with it like help other people!  I enjoy learning and understanding how and why things work - be it people, religion, or even computers.  And society is the couch for all of that - ergo my intrigue with sociology.
What do you want to be when you grow up?  Well for a while I wanted to be one of the Lego Master Builders... now-a-days I just want to help people and be my normal intensive self. I refuse to be a cog in the giant souless consumerism and corporation world, however.
Your club position, and what you hope to accomplish:
Yeah I'm in charge. I'd love to see the group do well by helping empower people and make an impact on the world around us - by both understanding it and taking part in improving it.
