The Girls Next Door Acappella

The Girls Next Door are one of the most talented Acappella groups on campus. I've had the opportunity to record with several of their members and have become a fairly consistent fan over the years. In the best tradition of the Positive Event Chain I decided to help redux their website. Afterall, the way I met their current president was through a random hug on the quad :)

The very first GND website was a simple composition of awkward old HTML text and pictures. The era of Alicia followed it up with a a colorful but somewhat clunky flash website (that played music every time you visited it in an annoying manner!). This time around we implemented a complex CSS/XHTML/flash design with all sorts of features and improvements.

The home page is designed to convey the basics about the group (the intro paragraph, of course with links built in) as well as direct attention to important areas. The main picture area is a simple flash file that flashes through different pictures in a loop and gives a cool feel as visitors immediately enter the page. The links are easy to find and also capture attention with their more unique quality of wording.

I'd like to thank Amanda Paulson for all of her help on the website - without her assistance the place wouldn't be nearly as impressive - she kept track of all of the content and did much of the undesirable repetitive work. A talented artist and amazing vocalist she's bound to aspire to much greater tasks.
