I took this shot for a couple of reasons. First, you can see the way the different edges and corners play off each other to make for the boundaries and relationships between the boxes. Second, it's a rather cool idea - news feeds pertaining to the website, available on the front page but without getting in the way of the main features. Regular visitors would be able to check back and see the latest immediately, but it's side-lined enough that new users wouldn't get distracted or confused.
